In Queensland, Mick and his son were enjoying a twilight stroll along Sunshine Beach when the eclipse began. Their viewing was briefly interrupted by a looming storm, prompting a hurried retreat home. "We hurried home to dodge the rain, but snagged these pics," Mick shared. Thankfully, the clouds parted, revealing the moon bathed in a mesmerizing reddish-orange hue. Meanwhile, in Strathpine, Linda's 97-year-old mum had a front-row seat from her bedroom window. "We were happy to show my 97-year-old mum, who's not very mobile, this lovely moon as it shone outside of her bedroom window. She was thrilled to see it so close," Linda recounted, highlighting the joy of sharing such a wonder with loved ones.

North of Yamba, amateur photographer Tony Belton found the perfect vantage point on his home's deck in Iluka. "I just sat on my verandah, and sure enough it came up, and there were clouds around the moon, but they broke away fortunately, and I was able to get some nice shots off," he told ABC North Coast, emphasizing the simplicity of his setup: "I just had a tripod on the verandah." Further south, in Kempsey, 15-year-old high school student Elise, a budding science enthusiast preparing for her chemistry exam, utilized her Seestar telescope to capture a fantastic shot from her backyard.

Perth offered a unique backdrop for the blood moon, with stars and high-rise buildings creating a dramatic urban panorama. One photo even captured a drone seemingly vying for attention in the night sky, appearing as two bright dots of light near the top left of the frame.
