Position Overview:
IMPACT seeks an experienced and highly organized individual to fill the role of Program Coordinator. This full-time, remote position offers an exciting opportunity to support and manage a diverse range of projects, with a preference for candidates based in the Americas, Africa, or Europe, especially those in countries where IMPACT has a strong presence.
As the Program Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth implementation of projects, maintaining compliance with donor requirements, and delivering high-quality outcomes that align with IMPACT's mission. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for international development and a knack for managing complex initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Quality Assurance (50%): Act as the central point of contact, facilitating clear communication between national management, project teams, and partners. Support project managers in developing comprehensive plans, budgets, and schedules using Results-Based Management (RBM). Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose proactive solutions. Prepare timely reports for donors and senior management, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Finance, Administration, and Human Resources (30%): Review and approve project expenditures, ensuring financial accountability and budget alignment. Collaborate with internal teams to manage contracting for project staff and consultants. Conduct regular competency assessments for direct reports and support their professional development.
Team Support and Organisational Stewardship (20%): Provide mentorship and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Assist teams in developing effective work plans and time management strategies. Champion IMPACT's organizational policies, ensuring understanding and adherence across all teams.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
IMPACT is seeking candidates with a strong background in international development program management and team leadership. Here's what we're looking for:
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Engineering, Business, Administration, or related fields
- At least 8 years of experience managing international development projects
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing diverse teams of staff and consultants
- Proven expertise in donor reporting and compliance, particularly with donors like Global Affairs Canada, the EU, UNEP, GIZ, or USAID
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, with familiarity in Results-Based Management frameworks preferred
- Proficiency in professional software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based systems
- Prior experience in IMPACT's thematic focus areas, including natural resource governance or artisanal mining, is advantageous
- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written), with working proficiency in Spanish
